Website Add On and Tools

February 2nd, 2012Helpful ResourcesComments Off on Website Add On and Tools

There are so many resources out there. Here are some ideas – I’ve noted each website add on that I use. Some are free, some are affiliates. Enjoy.

oLark Online Chat Service – I love this service. There are so many out there, but as you can see on, it integrates beautifully.

iStock Photos – I use this for high quality images. You buy credits, and each image or photo is typically available in various sizes. The search is very robust, the photos are amazing, and prices are very reasonable for royalty-free photos.

Click Desk Live Help Software – Chat box on your site! This is the chat I use on this site (see bottom, right corner of this page).

Bravenet: I have appreciated their web applications (both free and premium) for years.

Blog Talk Radio – Create your own radio show (cool, right!). (My Station)

Filezilla – Free FTP solution. I had another for years, but had to switch when I got a Mac. You MUST have an FTP program on your computer to have the fullest capabilities to integrate with your web site – whether it is eCommerce, WordPress, or straight HTML. Many hosts allow you to access your files within your control panel, but inevitably you will need an FTP program. Free is a great price, too.

Alexa Site Audit – An excellent tool. I use the toolbar all the time!

ClickMeeting – I haven’t needed this yet, but researched it for a friend.

Social Engine Build your own network with Social Engine.

Just Cloud: Access Your Files Anywhere, Anytime. “Try it free today”.

Zip Cloud: Access Your Files Anywhere, Anytime.

Livedrive online storage

Go Daddy Bulk Domain Registration – I use GoDaddy to register most of my Domain Names, and hosting for one of my sites. Their prices are awesome for domain registration, and easily integrated with web hosting.

E-Mail Campaign Management

Aweber: Most e-mail marketing gurus I have studied and used Aweber. From what I can see, it is extremely robust! If you know what you’re doing, I highly recommend Aweber. If you want point, click, e-mail, easy-to-use, I’d recommend another (such as MailChimp or iContact or another below).

iContact provides a robust array of tools to create, send and track your email marketing campaigns. Try it FREE for 30 Days!

MailChimp I also use MailChimp for e-mail marketing.
